Michael J. Cramer

Director, The Texas Program in Sports and Media at The University of Texas

Michael Cramer is the executive director of The Texas Program in Sports & Media at The University of Texas at Austin. A former president of the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars and, more recently, a professor in sports management at New York University, Cramer is the founding director of the College of Communication initiative.

Cramer is responsible for start-up leadership, fundraising and programming for the program, which includes overseeing development of the Richard Pound Archive of International Sport and organizing the annual McGarr Symposium on Sport and Society. He also teaches part-time in the area of sports and media in the college.

Cramer earned his law degree from Marquette University Law School and his bachelor's degree from the State University of New York.
